Riki Stopnicki
Toronto therapist | Practicum Student
I am a trainee therapist and Master of Social Work (MSW) practicum student at Yeshiva University's Wurzweiler School of Social Work. I have clinical experience in working with adults, adolescents, and children and a passion for psychotherapy. Listening seems to be somewhat of a lost art these days; many people don’t have the time to truly hear us. Even when people do listen, it can be without real presence and offered with heavy doses of advice and reassurance, which don’t really seem to help us. In my clinical work, I work hard to make sure that I listen in a way that truly allows you to be heard, while also bringing in evidence-based tools and skills to help you deal with whatever challenges you may be experiencing.
I work with clients dealing with a range of issues including anxiety, worry, depression, and life challenges. I am drawn to evidence-based psychotherapy approaches such as CBT and ACT and am passionate about helping you identify and move towards your aspirations, goals, and dreams. Starting therapy is never an easy process; doubt, shame, and self-criticism often show up as obstacles along the path. It’s difficult to reach out, but it is undoubtedly more difficult to continue to experience the same challenges week by week. So, if you’re ready to take the first step, let me help you move towards the finish line. It's not easy, but it is worth it.
I offer remote sessions and in-person sessions at 3440 Yonge St., Toronto, CA M4N 2M9.
