Help With Anxiety & Panic
What is anxiety? Why do we feel anxious and experience panic attacks?
Can you notice the signs of problem anxiety and panic?
Anxiety experiences differ from person to person. For some people, anxiety centres on a particular situation, something that has happened or will happen. Other people may feel anxious for no particular reason, almost like a danger switch has just been turned on, even though no clear danger can be determined. Some people notice anxiety in strongly physical ways, while others become preoccupied with anxious thoughts, worries, or obsessions.
Although anxiety can show up in many ways, the common theme is that the way we experience anxiety tends to limit our lives. Worries, tension, anxiety, and panic all have a way of narrowing our lives and limiting the kinds of activities we engage in. The things we do to reduce anxiety, unfortunately often make our anxiety worse over time.
